Microblading is a cosmetic tattooing technique performed specifically on the eyebrows.

Like earlier methods of cosmetic tattooing, it is done by manually depositing pigment into the second layer of the skin (dermis). But what makes it truly unique is the hand tool used. The unique formation of needles allows the artist to create the look of real eyebrow hairs by tattooing very fine hair-like strokes in the skin.

Microblading is a semi permanent treatment and lasts 12-24 months.

Prior to your treatment being performed a full brow design & measurement is undertaken to ensure you are 100% happy before your treatment commences.

No! Microblading is done to enhance what you already have to make the eyebrows look as natural as possible. Microblading is a great solution for people who have over-plucked their eyebrows, or who have naturally very thin/light eyebrows and want to accentuate the look of eyebrows on their face. It is not necessary, nor recommended for a client to get rid of any natural hair he or she may already have.

No. Microblading itself will not cause scarring. What can cause scarring after a microblading procedure is picking at the healing skin. This is why it is extremely important to ensure you do not pick at any scabs or flaking skin after your microblading procedure. Picking could result in the loss of pigment as well as scarring.

The healing process after a microblading procedure varies from client to client based on many factors. This could include, but is not limited to:

Aftercare being adhered to, whether or not shading was done, as well as just overall how someone’s body and skin reacts to the procedure.

Some of the most common things clients can expect after a microblading procedure are:

Tenderness in the area

Pink or redness around the affected area

Swelling

Thickening and darkening of the area

Moderate to thick scabbing 3 – 4 days after the procedure

Scabs will begin to flake off anytime between days 5 – 10

After scabs flake off, pigment colour and strokes will look light, grey, and blurry

After area is fully healed (4 weeks after procedure) the pigment will return to full colour

Microblading is not supposed to last forever and will require touch-ups when the pigment begins to fade.

Each individual result will vary. Environmental factors, hormones, etc will determine how long your Microblading will last. In general our clients will return for a refresh appointment 12- 18 months after initial application. This can then be stretched to 18-24 months there after. 

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup and is subject to fading over time due to exfoliation, sun exposure and skincare products that may increase exfoliation of the skin.

Sinead suggests refreshing your Microblading 12-18 months apart to keep your colour looking fresh.

Just like a typical skin wound, microblading takes about 10 – 14 days to heal before it can get completely wet without disturbing the skin or the healing process. This includes heavy exercise, sweating, showering and swimming. The area will be fully healed 30 days after the procedure was done.

This treatment has minimal pain as a strong anaesthetic is used prior to and throughout the procedure. Most clients comment how comfortable the service is and client comfort is paramount.

Unfortunately covering old or previous tattooing is not as simple as it may seem. Without knowing what specific colour, pigment type or technique was used it is difficult to ensure a satisfactory result once healed.

For these reasons Sinead does not Microblade over existing heavy brow tattoos that have been done elsewhere without consulting prior.

The healing process can take up-to 5 weeks, the first 10 days are crucial for your healing process.

We strictly advise that you follow your home-care instructions. During the healing process the brows will look fine, you will not need to take time off work after the procedure.

This treatment is not recommended if going on holidays within 3 weeks.

NO WATER on the brows strictly for 7 days post treatment.

We suggest that you use a face washer or makeup wipes during this period. Makeup or skincare can be applied AROUND the brows during this time.

NO SWEATING as this will effect your healing & retention. No sun baking or direct sunlight.

At 5-10 days the skin will exfoliate. The top layer will flake away leaving a softer and lighter colour below. Once this process is complete you can swim and get the brows wet again. You may feel that the pigment has lightened significantly but it will resurface by week 4 as your skin heals. Please wait until the 4th week to reassess if you would like your brows darker, or any adjustments made.

This treatment does not replace the need for eyebrow makeup in some individuals. We are mimicking hair, implanting pigment UNDER the skin. This means, once healed, your eyebrows will appear fuller with hair where it once would of been growing. In some cases clients who wear makeup on a daily basis will continue to enhance their Microblading with brow powder or pencil. Sinead will be happy to help show you how to best enhance your healed brows with our Garbo & Kelly eyebrow cosmetic range.

Its important to ensure your eyebrows are kept styled and in shape to properly enhance the microblading. Sinead suggests continuing brow waxes/threading every 4-6 weeks after your treatment.

Clients with fair eyebrow hair are recommended to enhance the brows with a tint, this will keep the brow hair matching with the microblading underneath.

*Two applications are strictly required to ensure pigment is successful. Can be paid in two installments of $375 Per Appointment. Failure to attend perfection visit within booked period will result in an additional fee charged. Some factors like skin type, hormones and environmental factors can inhibit how well skin retains colour. In this circumstance, some clients may choose to have the third layer of color implanted once brows have healed. A third session can be done 6-8 weeks after the second. This is an additional $150.
